Career astrology: how your birth chart shows your career
Career is not read from one place in the chart. Classical Jyotish gathers it from four, and the reading above works through each in turn.
The 10th house is the starting point, called the karma bhava. What matters is less the house itself than the planet that rules it and where that planet has gone: a 10th lord sitting in the 6th points somewhere quite different from one sitting in the 7th.
The D10 chart, the Dasamsa, comes next. Vedic astrology builds divisional charts by splitting each sign into equal parts, and the D10 divides each into ten to produce a chart read only for profession. A planet can look weak in the birth chart and strong in the D10, which is usually the sign of a career that takes time to find its footing.
The Amatyakaraka comes from the Jaimini system. Rank the planets by the degree each occupies in its sign; the second highest is your Amatyakaraka, the minister who advises the king. It carries the character of your working life more directly than any house does.

Which career suits you: the planets and their fields
The classical texts name four planets as significators of the 10th house: the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn. Any of the nine can shape a career, though, once it rules or occupies your 10th house, or becomes your Amatyakaraka. These are the fields each one traditionally points to:

What a chart can and cannot tell you about work
It can tell you what kind of work fits: the fields your chart leans toward, whether you are built for structure or for autonomy, where your strengths sit. That much is legible from the birth chart alone, and it does not change over a lifetime.
What it cannot tell you from the birth chart alone is when. Timing comes from the Vimshottari dasha, the system of planetary periods running over your chart from the moment you were born. A person with a strong 10th house can spend years in the wrong role because the period running favours something else. This is the honest limit of any free career reading, including this one, and it is the part the full report adds.

How can I know my future career by date of birth?
You need date, time and place of birth, not the date alone. The 10th house moves roughly every two hours, so two people born the same day in the same city can have entirely different career signatures. Start with the Sun. It is the significator of government and authority, so a Sun that is strong, or that is linked to the 10th house or its lord, is the classic sign of public service. A Sun in the 10th house, or the 10th lord sitting with the Sun, is the textbook case. Saturn adds the long, steady service that government work usually means, and a firm 6th house helps with the competition of exams. Will I settle abroad? What does my chart say about foreign settlement?
Settling abroad is read mainly from the 12th house, the house of distant lands, along with the 9th for long journeys and the 4th for home. A strong 12th house or 12th lord, Rahu linked to either, or a 4th house that is weak while the 12th is strong, all point to a life lived far from where you were born.
