What Your Free Kundli Shows
A kundli — your Janam Kundli or Vedic birth chart — is a map of the sky at the exact moment you were born. This free tool computes it with the same astronomical engine that powers our paid reports: the sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa, Swiss Ephemeris precision.
You get your Lagna (ascendant) — the sign rising on the eastern horizon at your birth, which shapes your body, temperament and the layout of all twelve houses — and all nine grahas placed by sign, house and nakshatra: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. The Current Transits (gochar) tab then overlays today's sky on your chart, so you can see which houses the planets are activating for you right now.
How to Read Your Results
Start with three placements. First, your Lagna — it is the lens the whole chart is read through. Second, your Moon sign (Rashi) and its nakshatra — in Jyotish the Moon is the mind, and its nakshatra sets your Vimshottari dasha clock. Third, your Sun sign — and do not be surprised if it differs from your “newspaper” sign; the sidereal zodiac sits about 24 degrees behind the tropical one, which shifts most people's Sun back a sign.
From there, look at which houses hold planets. A crowded 10th house pulls life toward career and public standing; planets in the 7th put relationships at the centre. If the grammar of signs, houses and nakshatras is new to you, our beginner's guide to Vedic astrology walks through all of it in plain language.
Why Exact Birth Time Matters
The ascendant moves through a full sign roughly every two hours, so two people born the same day in the same city — but two hours apart — have structurally different charts: different Lagna, different house lords, different life architecture. Minutes matter at sign boundaries. If your recorded time is an estimate, treat the house placements as approximate and the planet-in-sign and nakshatra positions (which move slowly) as reliable.
What Are Current Transits (Gochar)?
Your birth chart is a photograph; the sky kept moving. Gochar is the practice of reading today's planetary positions against your natal chart — Saturn crossing your Moon (the famous Sade Sati), Jupiter blessing your 5th house, Rahu stirring your 10th. The transit tab shows each planet's current house from your Lagna and when it next changes signs.

Free Kundli vs. the Full Report
This tool gives you the positions — accurately and honestly free. What it does not do is interpretation: weighing each planet's dignity and aspects, reading the houses through their lords, timing the promises against your dasha periods, and judging which yogas actually operate in your chart. That is composed work, done chart by chart.
The personalized Kundli report covers all nine planets and twelve houses in depth, five divisional charts, your dasha timeline with a 12-month forecast, Sade Sati, Varshaphala, and remedies specific to your chart. Free Kundli — Frequently Asked Questions
Is this kundli really free?
Yes — completely free, no login and no payment. Enter your birth date, time and place, and your Vedic birth chart is computed instantly: ascendant, all nine planets with sign, house and nakshatra, plus a live transit (gochar) view. We offer it freely because the calculation is the easy part; our paid report is the full written interpretation.
What details do I need to generate my kundli?
Three things: date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. Time matters most — the ascendant changes roughly every two hours, and it decides your entire house layout. If you are unsure of your birth time, check a hospital record or ask family; even 15–20 minutes can change the reading.
Which calculation system does this kundli use?
The sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard used across classical Vedic astrology — computed with Swiss Ephemeris astronomical data, the same engine that powers our paid reports. This is why your Sun sign here may differ from your Western (tropical) sun sign.
What is my nakshatra and why does it matter?
Your nakshatra is the lunar mansion your Moon occupied at birth — one of 27 divisions of the zodiac, each with its own deity and temperament. It sets your emotional nature and, crucially, the starting point of your Vimshottari dasha timeline. Your free kundli shows the nakshatra of every planet, including the Moon.
Can I check Sade Sati with this tool?
The Current Transits tab shows where Saturn is right now relative to your chart, which tells you whether it is near your natal Moon. For the full Sade Sati analysis — exact phase, dates, intensity and remedies for your chart — that is part of the personalized report.
