How the love percentage is worked out
Most love calculators turn letters into a number. This one uses the Moon. In Vedic astrology the Moon is the mind and the heart, and the nakshatra it occupied at birth is the most personal point in a chart. The calculator finds each person's Moon from the date of birth and compares the two across the eight areas of Gun Milan, worth 36 points in all. Your percentage is your points out of 36.

What your score means
Tradition asks for at least 18 of 36 (50%) before marriage. 25 to 32 counts as a good match, and 33 or more is rare. Two of the areas carry known doshas: Nadi, when both people share a nadi, and Bhakoot, when the Moon signs sit badly from each other. Both have classical cancellations, and the calculator says when one applies.
A score compares two Moons and nothing else. For marriage, families look at the full charts: kundli matching with birth times adds the Mangal dosha check for both people, and each person's own love astrology reading shows their 5th house of romance, their Venus and the periods tradition watches for love.

How does a love calculator by date of birth work?
Ours finds the Moon’s nakshatra and sign for each person from the date of birth, then scores the two the way Vedic matching (Gun Milan) does: eight areas, 36 points in all, shown as a percentage. If the Moon changed nakshatra on a birth day, it asks roughly when the person was born, because that changes the score.
Is this a real astrology calculation or just for fun?
It is the real traditional calculation, not a random number from letters. The same two dates always give the same score. It compares two Moons only, so treat it as a first look; full kundli matching with birth times also checks Mangal dosha.
What is a good love compatibility score?
Tradition asks for at least 18 of 36 gunas (50%) for marriage. 25 to 32 is a good match and 33 or more is rare. A low score points to areas that need understanding; it is not a verdict on two people.
Do I need our birth times?
No. The date is enough on most days. Add a time if you know it, and the place if either of you was born outside India, since the time zone decides which day the Moon reading falls on.
